Team Wellspring with be riding in the 4th Annual Ben Farrant Memorial Cyclathon on July 17-18. We are riding to honor one of Wellspring’s founding members and help improve education for Rwandan children by investing in their schools through the Whole School Development Program.
Joining Team Wellspring is as easy as contacting us to let us know you want to ride. We will then direct you to register at the Cascade website to reserve your spot in this year’s ride. For a $95 registration fee to the Cascade Bike Club, you will be provided with food at rest stops, luggage transport, mechanical and medical support, and other logistical support. Online registration is the fastest and cheapest registration method. Register soon to avoid a last minute scramble as the event usually sells out and has already registered 51% of it’s riders.
Got a favorite photo from this year’s cyclathon?
I do! Quite a lot actually, there are 890 photos! Here’s a few:
How about you?

Ben riding in the 2005 STP
Although most of you never had the opportunity to meet Ben I thought you might enjoy this picture from the 2005 STP. By the way, he is riding a $50 bike I picked up at a garage sale!
On August 15th Garth and I rode the Minden150. 30 degree heat, lots of hills through the Canadian Shield in northern Ontario. Broken chain, flat tire – an all around tough ride and great training for the 2010 Ben Farrant Memorial Cyclathon!

Colleen-Jason-Steve - Training for 2010
Ben’s sister Colleen and husband Jason and I started our 2010 training early! We donned our Team Wellspring jersey’s and went for a ride in south-western Ontario. (see photo)
Thanks for capturing so many of the moments and memories from this year’s cyclathon. It sounds like my daughter and son-in-law (Colleen & Jason) are planning for 2010. If so, I hope to join them. Garth and I and other family members are riding in the “Minden150″ (km) this Saturday. Trying to keep up the conditioning for 2010!
Hey Team Wellspring,
I finally got the photos up at Flickr!

Gillian Hall was signed up to ride with Team Wellspring this year (and rode with us in 2007) but she has some pretty crazy injuries and it looks like she won’t be biking again in the near future. She is interested in selling her bike. Details are below.
My bike is a Norco CRD 3. The frame size is medium. It has a small pump attached to it and a computer, and I have the big foot pump as well. I am hoping to sell it for $600.
It is in really good condition. I used it for 1 season.
If you are interested, please contact Gillian for more information at gillianhall10@hotmail.com. She lives in the Vancouver area.
Hi Wellspring Team.
Yesterday afternoon, we enjoyed a two and a half hour ride up to Golden Ears and back. Seven of us went, including Heather Collins, Lisa Edwardson, Amy Lange, Larry Scott, Jared Hindmarsh, Jason Strain, and myself. It provided us with some good hill training and it was fun to have some of the riders meet each other for the first time. Obviously we have some work to do to catch up with our Vernon and Ontario counterparts. How are things going Seattle, Calgary, and Redding?
