Sam, Brooklyn, Jonah & Eli (clockwise from left)

Brooklyn, who turns 14 this summer has finished her first year of high school in Kigali and is excited to start the next one.  She has made lots of new friends and has been enjoying the beautiful weather with no snow.  Jonah is 11 and he likes building new things while hanging out around the campus where we live.  Sam, our 9 year old, reads a lot more books here in Africa then he did in Canada.  Eli will be 5 this fall, he likes petting and feeding our bunny and going to the pool or having water fights on hot days. Our children were a big part of our planning, praying and dreaming about coming to Africa.  Just like their parents, they are enjoying living in a new culture but sometimes get homesick too.    We will continue to have lots of interesting stories to share from our life here in Rwanda.

Hi Brook, Jones Malone, Sam and Eli!

Just wanted to say we’re so excited for all of you as you head off on your incredible adventure! You are a very special niece and nephews and cousins that we will miss tons…yet we know God has amazing things in store for each one of you. Know that God will take care of you no matter what. Here is a verse for you…
“The Lord is close to everyone who prays to him, to all who truly pray to him.” Psalm 145:18
So remember to talk to God lots and know that He is near you wherever you are – at your new home in Kigali, at school and around the community.
I look forward to all the great stories and adventures you’ll be able to tell us about!
We love you tons and are praying for you!
    Love,
Auntie Laura, Uncle Kevin, Olivia and Ashlyn

Dear Brooklyn, Jonah, Sam and Eli,
I just wanted to say how much we miss you! Gibbon Street is just not the same without you, Saidie misses you too. Max and Madelaine are in Ottawa for three weeks so we are really lonely for kids on our street! I also want you to know that we are praying for you and even though we wish we had our paper girl and boys back we are excited for you and hope you will have an exciting time in Africa.
Jonah, Mr. Dickson said to tell you that the Canucks are playing the Columbus Blue Jackets and Henrik Sedin just scored! (its still the 1st period)
Love Mr. and Mrs Dickson (love to your mom and dad, we miss them too)

Hey Brooklyn, Jonah, Sam and Eli

How are you guys doing? I saw the pictures of your Christmas travels. It looks like you are having a great time. Jacoba and I are doing well. We miss hanging out with you guys and playing basketball. I saw that you got to go to watch some basketball games, that looked like fun. Have a great week!

Hey Brooklyn, just wanted to say hi and that I’m thinking of you guys this morning! The picture of you in your bathing suit on your holiday made me think of all the great times together at Camp Likely…but I guess Africa’s just a tiny bit different! I hope that you are making new friends and that you grow closer to Jesus every day. We love and miss you.
    Love, Sarah

    Hi Kids,

It’s your babysitter talking! I sincerely hope all of you are loving Africa. I can’t believe it’s been three years since I saw you all. I miss all of you so much! Eli, I’m sure you don’t remember me, but I babysat you as a baby, and I cannot believe how big you are! Jonah, I love the glasses ;) . Brooke! I miss chatting with you! You’re so grown up now, I guess my skills will never be needed again! And Sam, you’re still so adorable. I know, probably don’t want to hear it. Sending love and prayers from Alberta, and soon from Victoria again! All my love

    Anne
